The Chef
Paco Pérez is one of the most talented Spanish chefs emerged after the culinary revolution of the late 20th century, as evidenced by the five Michelin Stars that he has across his restaurants. Blending avant-garde techniques with the traditional cuisine of his homeland —Empordá (Girona)— Paco Pérez has an impeccable technique, which he is constantly improving with every new creation. He also has his own particular vision of the Mediterranean —the scenery that has surrounded him his entire life— which is reflected in the travel-inspired cuisine that he has developed from his culinary experiences around the world.
Back in his hometown (Llançá), Paco Pérez has turned his dream into reality, in the form of a restaurant with accommodation. Miramar is both a life and family project that he shares with his wife Montse. This is the place where all his creativity happens —the same creativity that that has helped the restaurant win two Michelin Stars. This vision of the Mediterranean has led him to places like the two-Michelin-starred Enoteca restaurant in Barcelona, and Berlin, with another one-starred restaurant.
At Marao, the Catalan chef wants to show you his travel-inspired vision of those cuisines that have excited him the most —with a nod to different cultures— by using his refined cooking technique, based on the respect for the product.
